The work emerges from a fiction in which power manufactures an artificial religious figure to contain social alienation. Instead of healing the wounds that produce suffering, a symbol is created to absorb it. A deity conceived to gather pain without ever shaking the structures that cause it. A ready-made receptacle for consolation. Consolation itself can function as a method of control when it diverts suffering from its sources.
